Clinical Trial Insights: ErgoYoung™’s Oral Efficacy on Skin Enhancement
Oral ErgoYoung™ Capsules: Clinical Trial Exploratory on Skin Condition Improvement
Objective: To meticulously analyze and comprehensively discuss the impact of oral administration of ErgoYoung™ on the cutaneous condition of the subjects using the VISIA photography methodology.
Methodology: A total of nineteen healthy subjects were enlisted, possessing an average age of 34.1 ± 5.46 years. Their skin conditions were predominantly typified by a sparse presence of acne, mild to moderate freckles, and a lackluster complexion. The subjects were administered 25mg/per capsule of ErgoYoung™ capsules, with a daily dosage of one capsule, for 4 weeks. VISIA photography was conducted before the commencement of ingestion, as well as 2 weeks and 4 weeks after the initiation of consumption. Simultaneously, relevant data were meticulously recorded and subjected to comprehensive statistical analysis.
Results: Upon the completion of 4 weeks of consumption, a notable amelioration in the overall state of the facial skin among the subjects was observed. Marked enhancements were detected in specific parameters, namely pore size, wrinkle reduction, ultraviolet freckle diminution, brown spot fading, and porphyrin level modulation. Throughout the entirety of the trial and in the post-trial period, no adverse reactions were reported by any of the subjects.
Conclusion: The present study demonstrates that the oral intake of ErgoYoung™ exerts a substantial influence on the enhancement of skin conditions. Particularly, prominent improvements are manifested in aspects such as pore refinement, porphyrin regulation, ultraviolet freckle mitigation, and brown spot attenuation.
It is further suggested that ErgoYoung™ capsules, when administered orally, are capable of effectuating certain degrees of amelioration in wrinkle reduction, sebum secretion modulation, and pigmentation alleviation.
This finding is in congruence with the established mechanism of action of ergotothioneine, which is endowed with the capacity to permeate and stimulate the basal cells of the skin, thereby diminishing pigmentation and oxidative stress, and ultimately addressing skin issues at a fundamental level.
It is thus inferred that ErgoYoung™ represents a potentially outstanding active ingredient in the realm of oral cosmetics.
Pores
Pores reflect the expansion of the sebaceous gland orifice. Generally speaking, the more sebum is secreted, the larger the pores will be. The denser the purple dots in the VISIA photo, the more severe the large pores. In this experiment, after 2 weeks of taking by the subjects, the value on the right side of the face increased significantly by 26.08% (p< 0.05); after 4 weeks of taking, the VISIA values of the subjects’ entire face increased significantly (p < 0.05), and the data of the left, front, and right three sides of the face increased by 42.89%, 46.40%, and 54.84% respectively. It indicates that oral ErgoYoung™ capsules can improve the condition of large pores on the skin to a certain extent.
Porphyria
Porphyria, also known as porphyrin, is a metabolite of some bacteria that live in hair follicles, reflecting the sebum secretion of sebaceous glands, and is often related to the onset of acne. A low value indicates a higher sebum secretion. In this experiment, the values of the subjects’ entire faces increased.
After 2 weeks of taking, the value of the subject’s frontal face increased significantly by 10.01% (p < 0.05); after 4 weeks of taking, the VISIA values of the subject’s entire face increased significantly (p < 0.05), and the data of the left, frontal, and right sides of the face increased by 10.71%, 13.50%, and 13.22% respectively. It shows that oral ErgoYoung™ capsules can to some extent improve the deposition of skin bacterial metabolites and can improve the condition of sebum secretion.
Wrinkles
Wrinkles reflect static lines such as facial dry lines and fine lines. The higher the value, the better the facial wrinkles. In this experiment, the facial wrinkles of the subjects were significantly improved. Among them, after 2 weeks of taking, the VISIA value of the subject’s left side face increased significantly by 13.4%, which was extremely significantly different from that before taking (p < 0.01). After 4 weeks of taking, the value of the subject’s left side face also increased extremely significantly by 21.61% (p<0.01), and the VISIA values of the frontal and right side faces increased significantly by 13.74% and 9.3% (p<0.05), respectively. It shows that oral ErgoYoung™ capsules can improve the skin wrinkle condition to a certain extent.
Ultraviolet Freckles
Ultraviolet Freckles are the result of skin damage from sun exposure, which occurs due to the accumulation of melanin under the epidermis. Ultraviolet Freckles are normally not visible to the naked eye and require the use of an instrument with trace ultraviolet rays for detection and observation. In daily life, if sunscreen is not done properly, the data of this indicator will generally be relatively low. In this indicator test, the overall values of the subjects have increased, and after 4 weeks of taking, the value of the subject’s frontal face has an extremely significant difference compared with before taking (p < 0.01), and the value has increased by 18.44%. It indicates that oral ErgoYoung™ capsules can to some extent improve the accumulation of facial melanin.
Brown Spots
Brown spots, which are also invisible to the naked eye, are deeper than UV spots and are hidden latent spots under the dermis, such as freckles, melasma, and age spots. As people age or the skin barrier function is damaged, deep spots in the skin may rise to the surface. In this indicator, the value of the subject’s right side face increased significantly by 7.99% after 2 weeks of taking (p <0.05); after 4 weeks of taking, the value of the subject’s right side face also had an extremely significant difference compared with before taking (p<0.01), increasing by 16.57%. It indicates that oral ErgoYoung™ capsules can to some extent improve the situation of deep facial pigmentation.
